Surasak Supports PM Anutins Plan to Deport Disruptive Tourists, Protecting Thai People and Quality Visitors

Surasak supports Prime Minister Anutin's initiative to deport unruly tourists following the enforcement of the 2026 Deportation Regulation starting today (28 Aug), highlighting decisive measures to protect both Thai citizens and quality tourists.

28 August 2026 GMT+7 Mr. Surasak Pancharoenvorakul, Minister of Tourism and Sports, responded to the latest directive from Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, pledging concrete enforcement of the new legal framework to crackdown on and deport foreign tourists exhibiting inappropriate behavior, causing disturbances, disrespecting Thai culture, and troubling both Thai citizens and other tourists.

The key practical points of the Prime Minister's Office Regulation on Deportation B.E. 2569 (For more details:Prime Minister signs new deportation regulation effective 28 Aug aiming to crack down on foreigners violating the law) which takes effect on 28 August 2026 are as follows:

• Behavior disrupting public order: grants authority to swiftly deport foreigners who act arrogantly, disrespect culture, violate laws, or offend public morality.
• Illegal entry and unauthorized work: decisive action against those entering or residing in the kingdom unlawfully, including illegal employment and business operations.
• Criminal acts: covers offenses such as forgery of official documents or crimes punishable by imprisonment of five years or more.

The Ministry of Tourism and Sports will proactively coordinate with the Ministry of Interior, Tourist Police, and Immigration Bureau to strictly enforce the Zero Tolerance policy. Tourists found threatening or disturbing others will be detained, have their visas revoked, and be subjected to immediate deportation under this new regulation, along with blacklisting to permanently bar re-entry into Thailand.

In closing, Surasak reaffirmed the Ministry of Tourism's stance: “Thailand welcomes tourists worldwide who respect our laws, our people, and honor our culture. However, we do not tolerate and will not accept tourists who disrespect the law, lack morals, show no respect to Thai people, or cause trouble and disrupt our social order. When such behavior is detected, we are ready to enforce strict deportation laws immediately to protect the welfare of all Thai people and maintain a safe environment for other tourists.”
