"Asaphon" exposes a bribery network demanding money for local government recruitment exams linked to a Department of Special Investigation (DSI) officer at the police lieutenant colonel rank, revealing chat evidence tying the gang and preparing to take complaints on 11 Sept.,
On 28 August 2026, Mr. Asaphon Santraiphop, MP for Sisaket from the Bhumjaithai Party and Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Committee in the House of Representatives, spoke on the program "Inside Thailand" about the case where the Anti-Corruption Division arrested “Phuyai Heng,” a former parliamentary candidate, for demanding 650,000 baht by claiming he could help with local government recruitment exams. This arrest may be linked to a "big boss," a politician, or a Department of Special Investigation (DSI) official, as previous chat evidence showed victims demanding repayment from the former failed parliamentary candidate.
Mr. Asaphon said that in Sisaket province, the network identified “Phuyai Heng” as the top figure locally, but who he connects to at the central level still requires further investigation. In Khon Kaen province, a similar network operates but separate from “Phuyai Heng.” The chat logs mention a DSI officer connected to “Phuyai Heng” holding the position of Special Case Expert (C8-C9 level), equivalent to police lieutenant colonel.
"The bribery network in Sisaket has already received 19 complaints from victims, with an additional case making a total of 20. The DSI has personally interrogated 18 cases, while the ACC has handled one case, and another was recently arrested by central authorities. These crimes were committed by a gang, not individuals. The ACC Committee of the House of Representatives will accept complaints via the Anti-Corruption Organization (Thailand) and plans to sign an MOU on 11 September to collaborate on anti-corruption efforts between the legislative branch and civil society. All gathered information will be forwarded to the ACC and police for further investigation," said the ACC Committee chairman.
