The Economic Party thanks the Prime Minister for issuing strict deportation rules and highlights the need to establish "ICE Thailand" to dismantle the gray market and eradicate illegal labor at its source.
On 28 Aug 2026 GMT+7, at the Economic Party headquarters, Mr. Chris Potranan, party chairman, along with Mr. Peeraphon Kanokwalai, party secretary-general, expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul for signing the Prime Minister's Office Regulation on Deportation B.E. 2569 (2026 CE), which clarifies procedures for expelling foreigners who violate laws or threaten public order from the kingdom.
They stated that the Economic Party views this as a significant step aligning with the "Thailand First - Thais Must Come First" and "Thai Labor Must Come First" policies the party has promoted since its campaign, while continuing to push for the "ICE Thailand" proposal and conducting ongoing inspections of illegal foreign labor issues in Bangkok.
The core of their proposal is to protect Thai people who are losing jobs and livelihoods and being forced into unfair competition, while gray market operators profit from importing illegal labor and leave crime and security burdens for the public to bear.
Previously, Mr. Peeraphon, an MP from the party, conducted field inspections of foreign vendor stalls in the Bang Khae market area of Bangkok, following complaints from Thai vendors about foreigners conducting trade on public spaces, using QR code payment systems, and engaging in occupations reserved for Thai nationals.
The Economic Party emphasizes that Thai vendors pay rent, taxes, and comply with laws and therefore should not be pressured to compete against networks that evade regulations and encroach on their livelihoods.
Meanwhile, on 17 Jul, Mr. Chris, party chairman, proposed the government establish the special task force "ICE Thailand," integrating police, immigration, labor ministry, provincial administration, customs, and security agencies under a unified mission, because the effort must go beyond daily arrests of illegal workers to trace human smuggling networks, document forgery rings, foreign capital using Thai nominees, and gray market operations profiting from displacing Thai workers.
