Songkhla to Serve Local Southern Cuisine and Specialties at Cabinet Meeting

The Deputy Government Spokesperson revealed that Songkhla Province is preparing to serve local dishes and southern specialties at the mobile Cabinet meeting, showcasing regional identity and advancing the southern culinary Soft Power.


On 29 August 2026, Ms. Ploytale Laksameesangchan, Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister's Office, announced that Songkhla is ready to host the first official off-site Cabinet meeting (mobile Cabinet) of 2026 from 31 August to 1 September 2026. The province will present local cuisine to Cabinet members and attendees to offer them a taste of Songkhla's specialties, highlighting regional identity and promoting southern culinary Soft Power.

The dishes Songkhla has prepared to serve at the mobile Cabinet meeting are as follows:

1. Snack menu (Hroi Nut) featuring triangular chicken floss and salted egg dumplings, charcoal-grilled egg cakes, and golden Ranod melon.

2. Breakfast menu (Hroi Raeng Tai Raeng Ok) including three-flavored grouper rice porridge from the Songkhla sea-river group, deep-fried dough sticks, custard or condensed milk, and Sawa cake.

3. Lunch menu (Hroi Jang Hoo) featuring three-flavored grouper curry, Songkhla wild mango (two genuine GI ingredients), fragrant golden mullet, stir-fried bai liang with egg, Thanat Sri noodles, Hatyai fried chicken, Betong chicken rice representing southern native chicken flavors, toddy palm in fresh coconut milk, and Thai-Thai ice cream.

4. Halal menu including halal beef soup, halal chicken rice, original recipe stewed beef noodles, and toddy palm in fresh coconut milk with Thai-Thai ice cream.

Ms. Ploytale added that Songkhla integrates efforts across all agencies to ensure the mobile Cabinet meeting runs smoothly. The province will seize this important occasion to showcase its potential, promote infrastructure development projects, improve residents' quality of life, drive the Songkhla Old Town towards World Heritage status, and maximize economic benefits for the southern region's people.
