On 29 Aug 2026 GMT+7, Chaitawat Tulathon, former opposition leader and ex-head of the Progressive Party, spoke at a forum titled “Thai Politics in a Crisis of Trust: The Truth Society Needs Answered.” He questioned the transparency of independent bodies, comparing how the Election Commission quickly sent the Progressive Party dissolution case to the Constitutional Court, citing “already established facts” without waiting for investigation. In contrast, the Senate election collusion case, despite clear evidence from the start, was ignored and delayed suspiciously.
Chaitawat stated that current independent bodies were not designed to investigate corruption but are used as tools by the “Blue Regime” to control elected politicians. If anyone complies or switches sides, the cases quietly disappear; if they resist, they face immediate legal action such as party dissolution or disqualification.
Chaitawat concluded by emphasizing that corruption in this Senate election is the core of the Blue Regime’s strategy to place people in independent organizations and block constitutional amendments. He warned that if this continues, Thailand’s system of checks and balances will completely collapse.
