Dr. Cholnan Warns of Diamond Brain Thieves Abhisit Emphasizes Staying Grounded in Truth

Dr. Cholnan joined an opposition forum, pointing out that Thailand's political crisis arises from ineffective oversight mechanisms, while Abhisit affirmed using parliament to explain the truth to the people.

On 29 Aug 2026 GMT+7, Dr. Cholnan Sri-kaew, former opposition leader in the House of Representatives, spoke at a forum titled “Thai Politics in a Trust Crisis and Its Impact on Oversight Mechanisms.” He acknowledged that confidence in Thailand's political system is steadily declining toward a trust crisis, mainly because checks and balances have been rendered ineffective and serve only certain groups. Without urgent systemic reform, this crisis might be used as a pretext to change the system of governance.

Dr. Cholnan also expressed concern about new political power entry methods, warning to be cautious of a group of highly intelligent vote managers called 'diamond brain' thieves. They create political contexts in advance without using money to subtly guide those who delegate power or the public unknowingly. If such intelligence is misused, it is extremely dangerous. He also made a pointed comparison to the former Democrat Party, saying they were so clever at persuasion they could convince people that a dog was a cat.

Abhisit Vejjajiva immediately responded, noting that the government side often controls communication tools and tries to claim a cat is a dog. At such times, the opposition's duty is to use its parliamentary skills to argue and prove to the public that it is indeed a cat. He concluded with the proverb “Saccang Va Amata Waja,” emphasizing that politics must be founded on truth.
