Prit anticipates the Election Commission (EC) might use the judicial process as an excuse not to prosecute 21 politicians, stressing that the evidence linking them is solid.
On 29 August 2026, Prit Vacharasinthu, a party-list MP from the Prachachon Party, spoke at the opposition leaders' forum focusing on evidence in the Senate corruption case, preempting the Election Commission's planned decisive vote on 14 September regarding whether to prosecute the accused in the Senate rigging case. He expressed concern over the EC Secretary-General's stance possibly seeking a way to avoid prosecuting 21 politicians, including ministers, MPs, and executives from the Bhumjaithai Party.
Prit emphasized that under the law, the EC is not required to wait for irrefutable court-level evidence such as bank transfer slips, but only "credible evidence suggesting corruption" to proceed with prosecution. He noted that the EC has previously prosecuted based solely on messages on LINE. The evidence revealed forms a clear puzzle linking vote-buying lists, election results, financial trails, and phone call histories, showing the existence of a corruption network involving over 200 people.
He also disclosed additional findings regarding Napint Srisonpang, Deputy Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office. Persons and Senate candidates from Nonthaburi named repeatedly on vote-buying lists were present at the Ministry of Commerce on the same day they gathered in a ministerial office. Important cellsite data shows that 40 senators, out of 229 people proposed for prosecution, showed phone signals converging at the Pullman Hotel on 21 July 2024.
Prit concluded that the entire puzzle of evidence is likely already in the hands of the EC and related agencies, leaving no reason for the EC to refuse prosecuting the accused in the Senate rigging case before the court to establish the truth.
