Panida, a People’s Party MP, disclosed information alleging that senators from Uthai Thani called Je Setth, revealing a meeting to prepare a senator candidate list with payments totaling hundreds of thousands of baht.
On 29 August 2026, Panida Mongkolsawat, MP for Samut Prakan from the People’s Party (Pop Party), claimed a network of relationships between Uthai Thani senators and Je Setth Thaisetth, Deputy Minister of Interior. After investigating, she found connections involving assistants, work histories, and phone records. It was alleged that four Uthai Thani senators had phone contact with Je Setth and Chada Thaisetth, MP for Uthai Thani from the Bhumjaithai Party. Some had shared attendance in the National Defence College course 13 with Chada, and some had previously worked in Je Setth’s team.
Panida further stated that some documents showed the list of individuals who became senators in Uthai Thani and related persons had attended a location alleged to be the site for preparing the senator candidate list at a resort in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya before the national senator election. It is understood the resort owner is closely linked to the Prime Minister and the Bhumjaithai Party. Some witnesses confirmed that during this event, one senator reportedly said they gathered knowing some would be disappointed and some successful. Those disappointed would be offered positions, and a team would manage the process, urging trust.
Moreover, information surfaced that after the meeting to prepare the candidate list, cash payments of 20,000 baht per participant were distributed. It was stated that if the vote outcomes matched the list, an additional 80,000 baht would be given, and if over 120 senators were elected as planned, another 100,000 baht per person would be paid.
