Worasit, Deputy Minister of Interior, emphasized that by 31 August, all local administrative organizations must complete the dismissal of individuals guilty of local exam fraud. He revealed that so far, no local organization has failed to comply with the resolution.
At 16:00 on 29 August 2026 GMT+7 Mr. Worasit Liangprasert, Deputy Minister of Interior (MoI4) gave an interview at Taleban National Park, Satun Province, regarding the progress of the local exam fraud case. He said that currently, the Ministry of Interior has sent the details of all individuals to be dismissed to every local administrative organization. These organizations must complete the dismissals by 31 August 2026, which is this coming Monday.
Worasit added that from his monitoring and reports, there have been no problems so far. Local administrative organizations that received the information have been processing the dismissals accordingly. A final tally of dismissals will be made on Monday.
Regarding some local organizations questioning why the Department of Local Administration appoints the director-general but does not dismiss offenders themselves, he clarified that in reality, the appointing authority is the head of the local administrative organization, who acts based on resolutions from the provincial committee. Therefore, the dismissal is not a responsibility passed to a single individual; it is a legal process. When local administrative heads sign off, it is not arbitrary but based on evidence and resolutions from the provincial and central committees that have been sent to them. .
When the deadline passes, if any subdistrict administrative organization (SAO) or municipality refuses to sign, what penalties will apply? Worasit said it will be considered case by case, depending on the circumstances. However, as far as he knows, no one has yet failed to comply with the resolution.
