She explained that after investigating the budget spending of the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society on the AI-Passport project, she received the lawsuit on 29 Aug. She reaffirmed her official stance to continue scrutinizing government management and budget use as part of the opposition's duty. Given the legal process underway, questions arise whether this lawsuit is an attempt to silence oversight or a legal tactic imposing burdens on those serving the public interest. She remains committed to being a voice for the people by presenting information based on established facts to protect public interest and conduct honest oversight, a fundamental right of the people.
"This lawsuit is not personal, and I am not here seeking sympathy. What has happened shows that those who oversee for public benefit—I have posted information according to academic principles and my duties. The two private companies filing suit are not government agencies or ministries. Therefore, I will fight and perform my opposition duties to the fullest, with no personal gain involved. Although I may be facing a strategic lawsuit to silence me, I want everyone to be confident that this lawsuit will not silence me, nor will it ever blind the public." Ms. Kardee said.
