On 30 Aug 2026 at 11:25 a.m. at Wat Saket Ratchaworamahawihan, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, commented on the opposition leaders urging the Election Commission (EC) to file charges against 229 people accused in the Senate collusion case, which includes his name. He said the matter rests with the EC and questioned what he could do. When asked if he was worried about his name being included, Anutin said he did not know how to answer and that such questions were inappropriate since they did not relate to government administration. Asked about opposition and iLaw revealing names of ministers possibly involved before the EC's vote, Anutin immediately asked reporters not to focus on possibilities, saying "If there is, there is; if not, there isn't." When asked if the matter was at the EC's discretion, he said it was not discretion but that investigative power fully belongs to the EC. He added that as long as they obey the law and all rules, there would be no questions about who is right or wrong or what anyone would do. Regarding the Prime Minister's Facebook post "Steel doesn't melt, but ice cream does," when asked if it had political meaning, Anutin laughed and said, "I just ate it moments ago," then promptly left by car.
