
The Prime Minister praised the skilled Thai women's volleyball team for bringing joy and making history by successfully securing a spot at the Olympic Games LA 2028.
On 30 Aug 2026 GMT+7, Ms. Ploytale Lakshamisangchan, Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister's Office, announced that Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul praised and congratulated the Thai women's national volleyball team for uniting to defeat China 3–2 sets, winning the AVC Women’s Volleyball Continental Championship 2026, earning the right to participate in the FIVB Volleyball World Cup 2027, and qualifying for the Olympic Games LA 2028.
She added that this victory reflects the fighting spirit of the Thai women's volleyball team. Despite disadvantages in height and the opposing crowd's support, through discipline, unity, and teamwork, the Thai team never gave up, bringing pride and happiness to the Thai people. They made history by securing a quota for the Olympic Games LA 2028, marking their greatest achievement to date.
The government expressed thanks to the athletes, coaches, and all involved staff. Importantly, it also thanked the Thai people for continuously sending their encouragement and support.
