"Teng-Pita" motivates Nonthaburi residents to vote on 20 September, pushing "Decharat" to lead the Provincial Administrative Organization, promoting the "4 S" policy to build a new, livable, leading, and inclusive Nonthaburi.
On 30 August 2026, at Central Northville Department Store and Nokhook Market in Mueang Nonthaburi District, Nonthaburi, party leaders, campaign assistants, and all 8 Nonthaburi MPs from the People’s Party held campaign activities and opened a rally stage for the upcoming Nonthaburi PAO presidential election scheduled for 20 September 2026. The People’s Party nominated Decharat Sukkamnerd as candidate number 4 for Nonthaburi PAO president.
The campaign began in the evening at Central Northville with Decharat and Pita Limjaroenrat, former leader of the Move Forward Party and People’s Party campaign assistant, meeting residents shopping and passing by. They then proceeded to Nokhook Market for more campaigning, joined by Nattapong Rueangpanyawut, People’s Party leader, and Rakchanok Srinok, party list MP, before taking the stage for evening speeches.
Nattapong said that nominating Decharat for PAO president is not about monopolizing politics in Nonthaburi, even though the party has earned national trust with all 8 Nonthaburi MPs and many local mayors and councilors from the party. The party sees an opportunity to develop the province under the "New Nonthaburi" concept to drive Nonthaburi into a livable, leading, and inclusive city.
Regarding education, the annual budget of approximately 1.6 billion baht will continue without cuts and may increase. Effective existing programs will be supported, alongside expanding learning spaces that allow children to develop practical skills that the internet or AI cannot replace.
Nattapong added that for the "Nonthaburi for Everyone" goal, citizens will directly participate in budget management through the "Nomyak Sanyo" project, which involves monthly visits to communities to hear their needs and problems, then translating them into annual budget projects.
He urged Nonthaburi residents to consider the party’s stance and ideology, Decharat’s knowledge, problem understanding, and teamwork culture. If elected, Decharat can work effectively with all 8 Nonthaburi MPs, local party representatives, and party personnel across various sectors.
Nattapong emphasized that despite how much the party or candidates campaign, the election outcome depends on the voters. In recent national elections, about 70% of Nonthaburi residents voted, but only around 40% voted in the last PAO presidential election, a 30% difference. He urged supporters to encourage those around them to vote on 20 September. The party aims to raise turnout from 40% to 50-60%; with 50% turnout, victory is highly likely.
Decharat took the stage to present his management approach for Nonthaburi under the "4 S": education, health, environment, and economy. He said he wants to apply his 30 years’ experience as an economics professor at Kasetsart University and his policy director roles with the Move Forward and People’s Parties to implement policies effectively in Nonthaburi.
The first "S" is Education. He reaffirmed maintaining the education budget of about 1.6 billion baht for teacher salaries and school investments, while filling gaps. A key early task is establishing a mental health care system in schools covering students, teachers, and parents within 30 days to be ready for the next semester. He also plans to develop "Nonthaburi Learning Space" by transforming existing areas into co-working spaces, libraries, and activity zones, and launching projects like "Story House, Playgrounds" to reduce inequality between large and small schools.
The second "S" is Health. The aim is to ensure people can access services "near home, near heart" without building new hospitals, by linking data among services from subdistrict, district, and provincial levels to large hospitals. Also, improving public transport to health facilities will reduce citizens’ expenses.
The third "S" is Environment. Nonthaburi faces various environmental issues, especially the Sai Noi landfill handling about 1,800 tons of waste daily from across the province. Decharat plans to start addressing this within the first 100 days by reducing truck queue times, minimizing rainwater mixing with leachate, and involving communities in oversight. He will also focus on river and canal care and preventing saltwater intrusion into the Chao Phraya River, which threatens Nonthaburi durian orchards, by applying forecasting systems and coordinating with the Royal Irrigation Department to manage freshwater and push back saltwater. The PAO must serve as a central coordinator among local administrative organizations along the same watershed.
The fourth "S" is Economy. The focus is on building a creative economy to revitalize key Nonthaburi areas, especially Nonthaburi Pier, to thrive anew as a learning space, museum, and redeveloped old city hall, fostering local pride.
For Ko Kret, activities and tourism will be expanded to operate daily, not just weekends, attracting more foreign tourists. Other areas like Bang Kruai, Bang Yai, and Sai Noi will be developed as creative economic zones.
In agriculture, he plans to connect local farmers with school food systems, encouraging them to grow produce for school lunches, ensuring stable markets for farmers while improving nutrition for children in small schools.
"Education must continue and be fully supplemented; health must be cared for near home and heart; environment—rivers, canals, waste, and fine dust—must be managed to make Nonthaburi livable; and finally, the economy must focus on building a creative economy," said Decharat. Decharat said.
Closing the event, Pita gave the final speech, saying that while Nattapong explained why citizens must vote and Decharat outlined what he would do if elected, he would explain how to make Decharat’s proposals a reality.
The synergy between Decharat and the People’s Party is reflected in what he calls "Nonthaburi’s Four Advantages": First, residents will get a genuinely policy-oriented candidate. Having worked with Decharat since the Future Forward and Move Forward parties, he is confident in Decharat’s policy development and design skills.
Second is seamless cooperation with all 8 People’s Party MPs in Nonthaburi, linking national-level work with local administrators responsible for the provincial budget. Third, support from top party personnel in environment, education, economy, and public health ready to contribute knowledge to back Decharat’s "4 S" approach.
Fourth, a team of party staff will assist local administration, like buying one and getting four extra benefits. Voting for Decharat means not just electing one candidate but gaining the People’s Party team ready to work together to advance Nonthaburi.
Pita emphasized his greatest concern is that citizens who participated in national elections might not vote in local elections. If turnout drops from about 800,000 to 400,000, no matter how hard candidates or parties campaign, winning will be difficult.
"This election is highly consequential, and the fate of Nonthaburi’s people rests with Nonthaburi residents themselves. Go out and vote overwhelmingly on 20 September.
