On 31 August 2026 at 12:30 PM in Songkhla, Khlong R.1, reporters reported that while Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, was inspecting water gate management at Na Khuan in Hat Yai District, Songkhla, near Khlong Phuminat Damri (Khlong R.1), Narongporn Na Phatthalung, Mayor of Hat Yai Municipality, approached and respectfully greeted Anutin. The Prime Minister asked how the situation was, and Narongporn replied that it had improved.
The Prime Minister then said, "Seriously, don’t go around backbiting. Whatever happens, we have to work together. Politics is like motherhood—let it be. Prioritize our people's issues first. We’re already on the same side." He then asked Narongporn, "You’re a former district chief, right? We must work together and prevent disaster."
