Explosion of Car Radiator Causes Alarm EOD Officers Inspect Before PMs Meeting on Southern Thailand Development in Songkhla

An explosion of a car radiator alarmed officials as EOD officers rushed to inspect the scene before the Prime Minister's meeting on problem-solving and development strategies for five southern provinces in Songkhla. Police revealed that the vehicle had traveled a long distance under intense heat, causing the radiator to explode.

At 13:30 on 31 Aug 2026, reporters reported that at the auditorium of the Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya in Songkhla, a workshop was held to gather opinions on problems, obstacles, and development proposals for five southern provinces (Songkhla, Satun, Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat). This was part of an official off-site Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, with deputy prime ministers, ministers, and representatives from related agencies attending.

Before the Prime Minister arrived, a loud noise was heard from an official's car parked opposite the auditorium, accompanied by smoke coming from the engine compartment. Military, police, and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) officers immediately inspected the vehicle.

Police revealed that preliminary findings suggest the cause was the car radiator exploding, likely due to the vehicle having traveled a long distance in extremely hot weather.
