At 21:50 on 31 August 2026, reporters reported that after completing his mission in Songkhla Province, before the Cabinet retreat meeting scheduled for tomorrow (1 September 2026), Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul had dinner with the Cabinet at Laguna Grand and Spa Hotel, Songkhla. The Prime Minister sang the song “Asongkhai” with the singers, then opened his phone to find the lyrics of “Chan” by Ying Thitikarn and handed the microphone to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation Yotsanan Wongsawat. Yotsanan tried to sing but was unable to, so the Prime Minister joined in singing “Chan” alongside him. The atmosphere was lively and cheerful.
During the event, ministers took turns singing. At one point, Yotsanan sang “Lao Su Kan Fung” by Bird Thongchai McIntyre, with Anutin standing by clapping and presenting him with a bouquet. Meanwhile, Minister of Digital Economy and Society Chairachon Chidchob, as secretary-general of the Bhumjaithai Party, also brought a cluster of longkong fruit to present. In addition, Supamas Isarapakdi, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office, joined in singing and kissed Yotsanan on the cheek, causing a stir among attendees.
Near the end, the Prime Minister thanked the ministers and attendees, saying, “We have worked all day since morning; many traveled since yesterday. There are many conclusions that I believe the Cabinet will approve tomorrow — policies that benefit Thailand and the southern border provinces. Thank you all for coming to the event to bring some liveliness. We always carry worries and concerns in our hearts. It’s rare to have an opportunity like this to gather. Thank you to the Cabinet members who came together. This is encouragement for ourselves, the organizers, and everyone present today.” The event then continued with the songs “Tur Tang Nun” by Groove Riders for the Cabinet members and ended with “Satha” by Hin Lek Fai.
After the event, reporters teased Yotsanan about frequently being kissed lately, to which he replied, “We know each other. We’re friends.” When reporters asked Supamas about the kiss, she said it was to encourage him as the new Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation because she used to hold that position and that they are close friends living in the same village.
