Sonthiya filed a complaint with the Crime Suppression Division urging an investigation into Yingcheep from iLaw and Mr. Wasting Samit over the leak of classified government documents and allegations of collusion in the Senate election.
At 10:30 a.m. on 1 Sep 2026 GMT+7 at the Central Investigation Bureau complaint center, political activist Sonthiya Sawasdee, involved in the recent Senate election, submitted a request to the Crime Suppression Division commander to form a committee to investigate allegations involving Yingcheep Atiprukcholtharn, director of the legal management organization iLaw, and Mr. Wasting Samit, a former senior Supreme Court judge.
The request followed the release of classified government documents on social media and public platforms. Sonthiya asked the Crime Suppression Division to investigate four main points.
1. Whether the actions constitute theft under the law.
2. Whether the acts threaten national security.
3. Whether they violate the Computer Crime Act.
4. Whether there was support for the illegal dissemination of government documents.
Additionally, he asked for scrutiny of Mr. Wasting Samit’s interview claiming that the top six Senate candidates colluded in the election, stating he was willing to be sued and reveal documents. Sonthiya questioned whether this violated Section 14 of the Computer Crime Act or threatened national security.
Sonthiya stated that since both individuals are legal experts and the Senate election collusion issue has attracted broad public attention, the release of classified state information should be thoroughly investigated for any wrongdoing.
If wrongdoing is found, it should be fully disclosed.
He called on the Crime Suppression Division to promptly establish a committee to investigate, and if violations are confirmed, to prosecute fully under the law. He also plans to file a complaint with the Election Commission separately on this matter.
