On 1 September 2026, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul spoke about the Thai women's national volleyball team’s victory over China to claim the Asian Championship and qualify for the Olympics, noting that they are scheduled to meet with him on 3 September.
Anutin stated that Minister of Tourism and Sports Surasak Phanjaroenworakun has arranged the appointment. He added that he is eager to meet everyone who has brought honor to the nation but also wants to avoid interfering with the athletes’ training or personal celebrations. Whenever possible, he wishes to personally thank all the athletes for their remarkable achievements for Thailand.
When asked if the government would host a celebration for the athletes’ success, the Prime Minister smiled and replied, "On request, anything is possible," promising to fully accommodate the athletes’ wishes.
