Deputy Minister of Education Akkharanat continues efforts after the Cabinet's mobile session by visiting the homes of poor students. He listens to household issues alongside teachers, driving policies to reduce educational inequality.
On 1 September 2026, after completing the Cabinet's mobile session in Songkhla province, Deputy Minister of Education Akkharanat Kankitinan immediately joined teachers and the SGR team to visit homes of poor and underprivileged students. The aim was to listen closely to the students' and families' problems and living conditions, using this information to develop targeted assistance plans.
Akkharanat stated that this field visit is a proactive measure to allow the Ministry of Education to gain direct insight from the area. Addressing educational inequality requires truly understanding each child's life and family context.
"After the Cabinet's mobile session, our mission is not over. The key is to translate what we discussed and heard from the field into action, especially regarding education. We must go to the homes, see the real problems, and hear the voices of children and families ourselves," he said.
The Deputy Minister emphasized that every child should have equal educational opportunities regardless of their family's financial status or limitations. Relevant agencies must collaborate to find appropriate support solutions covering learning, living conditions, and factors that may hinder education. Education should never be lost to any child simply because of family poverty. We must care from the start and not allow poverty to cause children to drop out or leave the education system.
This home visit to poor students is part of efforts to advance policies reducing educational inequality by providing assistance directly to students and families in real need. It also involves coordinating cooperation among schools, families, and related agencies to ensure children receive proper and equitable educational opportunities.
