At 13:30 on 1 Sep 2026 at the Prachachon Party headquarters, Nattapong Ruangpanyawut, leader of the Prachachon Party and opposition leader, commented on the Cabinet's mobile meeting in Songkhla Province. He said that beyond the government's announcement of a budget project exceeding 50 billion baht for the southern region, his party is not questioning the budget itself but wants the government to clearly define the objectives and measurable benefits for the southern people. He stressed the importance of clarity in the projects rather than simply allocating a large sum, which might ultimately benefit business interests. Regarding the local exam corruption case, which led to the revocation of over 3,000 positions, he said he is not concerned about the specific incidents if there is clear evidence requiring straightforward action. What the public wants to see is identification of the masterminds behind the fraud. As long as these major perpetrators are not addressed, he believes such exam corruption cases may recur in the future.
He boldly claims to have the means to cause Anutin to lose his prime ministerial position.
Nattapong discussed the opposition's preparations for debating the government, saying informal talks have taken place but no formal discussions yet. Whether the debate will target individual ministers or the whole cabinet remains to be decided. He is also unsure if it will be a general debate, a no-confidence debate, or both. He is confident they have information exposing the severity of the 'Blue Regime.' When asked if there will be no internal dissent ('snakes') this time, he expressed confidence that current Prachachon Party members will not break party discipline during key votes. Regarding the prime minister's repeated thanks to the Prachachon Party during the loan decree consideration, Nattapong said the prime minister should try a new approach. The communication expected from the prime minister should focus on resolving public issues rather than using repeated political barbs.
“I feel nothing. But for me, if the prime minister wants to thank me as someone who once helped him become prime minister, he should not forget that today I might be in a position to cause him to lose that position as well,” Nattapong said. Nattapong stated.
