Chuan Leekpai and Abhisit Vejjajiva wore Democrat Party jackets to welcome Wichet Kasemthongsri, former Minister of Natural Resources and Environment and former Thai Rak Thai MP, into the party. Wichet pledged unwavering loyalty and honesty, declaring that if he were to embezzle even a single baht, he wished for misfortune to befall him.

Abhisit Vejjajiva leader of the Democrat Party, and Chuan Leekpai, former party leader, warmly welcomed him and presented him with a Democrat Party jacket.
Wichet took an oath before the Democrat Party emblem, committing to loyalty and the ideal of honesty in performing his duties. He prayed that if he were to commit even a single act of corruption, he would be doomed, but if he worked with integrity, he would achieve prosperity.
“Chuan and Abhisit have clearly demonstrated integrity. For the country to progress steadily, it requires leaders who are honest to govern the nation.”
