The government advises citizens to apply for flood relief funds by registering through both the "State" app and local government applications in their area, emphasizing linking PromptPay accounts to ensure quicker receipt of relief payments.
On 2 September 2026, Ms. Ploytale Laksamisangchan, Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister's Office, stated that in response to the flood situation, the government has directed agencies responsible for disaster relief to act appropriately. The Cabinet has approved guidelines, conditions, and procedures for providing financial aid to flood victims during the 2026 rainy season, along with approving the budget framework to quickly alleviate public hardship. The assistance criteria are as follows.
For permanent residences flooded for no more than seven days with property damage, and for those flooded continuously for more than seven days, assistance of 9,000 baht per household will be provided. The residence must be located in an officially declared disaster area or designated aid zone, and assistance will be provided once per household. In cases of death caused by landslides or direct flooding, a funeral assistance payment of 2,000,000 baht per case will be given.
Ms. Ploytale added that flood victims can submit relief applications through two channels: 1. Register via the "State" application, which is linked to the civil registry database for immediate verification, allowing applicants to track their status in real time; 2. Submit documents in person at local administrative organizations, where officials will assist in entering data into the system.
"The Prime Minister has ordered expedited relief efforts for the public. Eligible individuals should ensure their PromptPay accounts are linked to their national ID numbers, as the Government Savings Bank will transfer relief funds only to these accounts. Importantly, local agencies are instructed to submit verified applicant data progressively into the system without waiting to collect complete data from entire villages, so the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation can quickly forward information to the Government Savings Bank for prompt payments," Ms. Ploytale said.
