On 2 Sep 2026 at the Parliament building, Prit Watcharasindhu, party-list MP of the People's Party (PChn.) and opposition whip, said in an interview that on 1 Sep there was a meeting where the opposition coalition gained a new member party, Thai Ruam Palang. They agreed to submit a no-confidence debate under Section 151. They have not fully discussed all names yet, but two confirmed are Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and Chaiyachonok Chidchob, Minister of Digital Economy. A working group was formed with Rangsiman Rom, party-list MP of PChn., as the lead coordinator to collect signatures and draft the motion. They expect to submit the motion soon, within a few weeks. He noted that since the Prime Minister said he is ready to answer all questions, they hope neither he nor the Bhumjaithai Party will try to have the Speaker rule out discussion of vote-buying in the Senate or local exam fraud by procedural tactics.
When asked about Natthaphong Ruangpanyawut, leader of PChn., who said that if he helped make Anutin Prime Minister, he can bring him down, and when that might happen, Prit replied that the goal of the no-confidence debate is not just to count votes but to present the truth about the government’s problems to society. If the public accepts the evidence they have, whenever power returns to the people, they will open the opportunity for another party to govern.
