Ruttaphon revealed that the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) has established a committee to investigate serious disciplinary offenses involving officials implicated in local corruption exams linked to the “Nai Heng” group.
At 10:45 a.m. on 2 Sep 2026 GMT+7 at the Government House, Pol. Lt. Gen. Ruttaphon Naowarat, Minister of Justice, spoke about the statement from the Chairman of the House Committee on Anti-Corruption regarding the arrest of Mr. Prawit Jaruratkul, known as “Nai Heng,” a former Pheu Thai Party parliamentary candidate. He was apprehended by the Anti-Corruption Division for allegedly soliciting bribes by claiming he could assist with local civil service recruitment exams. The arrest may implicate officials from the Department of Special Investigation (DSI). According to initial reports, two DSI officials are involved. The Royal Thai Police have already proceeded with the overall case, while the DSI Director-General will form a committee to examine the serious disciplinary issues.
When asked how long the investigation would take, Pol. Lt. Gen. Ruttaphon said that the initial inquiry falls under the authority of the DSI Director-General, who has provided explanations accordingly.
Asked whether the DSI investigation would expand beyond the two implicated officials, Pol. Lt. Gen. Ruttaphon said that regarding local exam corruption, the DSI's role is investigative. The main case has already been handled by the National Anti-Corruption Commission from the beginning, and the Royal Thai Police have also proceeded with prosecutions related to this matter.
