On 2 September 2026, Ms. Ratchada Thanadirek, spokesperson for the Office of the Prime Minister, revealed that Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul welcomed H.E. Mr. Lawrence Wong, Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore, on his official visit to Thailand to attend the 5th Thailand–Singapore Leaders’ Retreat. The atmosphere was warm and friendly, reflecting the strong bond between the two leaders who have met and consulted continuously at many international forums.
On this occasion, the two leaders signed the guestbook in the Purple Room and exchanged carefully chosen souvenirs. The Singaporean side presented Prime Minister Anutin with a special gift consisting of a classic “Architecture” art speaker blending 1950s ventilation block design with Peranakan batik cultural patterns, and a Royal Singapore Air Force (RSAF) pilot wing patch embroidered with the name and air call sign “MICKEY.” This was specially created to symbolize the Thai Prime Minister’s passion for aviation and to emphasize the close relationship between the air forces of both countries.
Ms. Ratchada stated that these gifts reflect a genuine friendship beyond typical diplomatic boundaries, demonstrating attention to the Thai leader’s personal preferences and lifestyle. After the souvenir exchange ceremony, the Prime Minister and his spouse hosted an official dinner to honor the Singaporean Prime Minister and his spouse at the Santi Maitri Building, amidst a strong atmosphere of close relations, before the Singaporean delegation departed smoothly.
