
Prime Minister Anutin Chanvirakul dismissed Sonthi Limthongkul's plan to mobilize crowds on the streets to reclaim the country from 'gray capital,' stating that the country belongs to everyone and does not need to be reclaimed.
On 3 September 2026 at the Government House, Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Chanvirakul was interviewed regarding former People's Alliance for Democracy leader Sonthi Limthongkul's scheduled press conference on 7 September to prepare for leading crowds onto the streets to reclaim the country from 'gray capital.' He said Thailand and its people do not owe anyone, as the country belongs to all Thais; therefore, no one needs to reclaim it. When asked if there would be any problems afterward, Anutin said it is every citizen's right to express themselves under the constitution, which must be within the law, and under the constitution, there is no problem.
