Prime Minister Anutin Monitored the Rehearsal of the Royal Barge Procession, Confident It Will Be Smooth and Perfectly Executed.
At 14:30 on 3 Sep 2026 at Tha Wasukri Pier, Dusit District, Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, arrived to oversee the rehearsal of the Royal Barge Procession for the upcoming royal merit-making ceremony to offer the Kathin robe and the grand celebration of Her Majesty the Queen's 4th cycle birthday anniversary on 3 June 2026. Upon arrival, Anutin received a briefing from the Royal Thai Navy inside the royal barge shed summarizing the readiness of the royal barge procession and the 2,000 rowers. The Prime Minister then inspected two royal barges: Suphannahong, the royal barge, and Narai Song Suban, which carries the Kathin robe. Afterwards, Anutin boarded a navy vessel that traveled alongside the procession route to monitor preparations and water currents before docking at Wat Arun Ratchawararam in Bangkok Noi District, Bangkok. There, he paid respects at the monument of King Buddha Loetla Nabhalai, the Phra Buddha Thammasirachalokthatdilok statue, and Phra Buddha Narumittra in the ordination hall of Wat Arun.
Deputy Abbot Phra Ratchawachiratanaphorn of Wat Arun presented Anutin with a Garuda emblem symbolizing great power over obstacles, protection against enemies, and success in work. Before departing, the Prime Minister was greeted by citizens who approached him for greetings and photographs.

At 15:50, after monitoring the rehearsal of the Royal Barge Procession, Anutin stated that the vessels, route, and procedures for the 6 November procession are all perfectly prepared. Training continues to enhance beauty and safety. He expressed confidence that this event showcases Thailand's beautiful culture and fills everyone with pride in the nation's foundational institution. When asked about safety measures for tourists during the procession, Anutin said strict security is in place along the route. Tourists can view from riverbanks, temples, and schools. He will instruct the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Culture to fully facilitate citizens and tourists. Regarding concerns about food prices at riverside restaurants, the Prime Minister said he believes restaurant owners will want the public to have the opportunity to view the event and expects no exploitation or price gouging.
