Order to Investigate Explosion at Auto Parts Factory in Bang Bo District Injuring 3 Workers

Minister Julaphan ordered aid for the injured workers and a fact-finding investigation following an explosion at an auto parts factory in Bang Bo District, Samut Prakan Province. He urged all establishments to consider safety as the utmost priority.


At 18:25 on 3 September 2026 GMT+7 Mr. Julaphan Amornwiwat, Minister of Labour, posted a message viaFacebookregarding the case of an explosion inside an auto parts factory located in Bang Phriaeng Subdistrict, Bang Bo District, Samut Prakan Province. Upon learning of the incident this afternoon, he immediately ordered agencies under the Ministry of Labour to promptly conduct a fact-finding investigation and provide assistance to the affected workers.

Initial reports from the Samut Prakan Labour Protection and Welfare Office (LPWO Samut Prakan) stated that the explosion occurred at the dust collection point of machinery on the production line. The situation was quickly controlled but resulted in three workers being injured. Rescue teams have already transported them for medical treatment. Regarding relief efforts, an urgent directive was given to the Social Security Office to coordinate with the hospital immediately to ensure full and swift access to medical care and compensation benefits from the Workmen's Compensation Fund for the three injured workers.

He emphasized strict enforcement of workplace safety standards and assigned the LPWO Samut Prakan to collaborate with Safety Center Region 10 to rigorously inspect the incident site and enforce the Occupational Safety, Health, and Environment Act B.E. 2554 (2011), as well as the ministerial regulations on safety management related to machinery, cranes, and boilers B.E. 2564 (2021).

"I urge all establishments to recognize that the safety and health of workers are paramount and non-negotiable. Factory accidents are preventable if everyone strictly follows safety standards. I send my concern to the injured workers and assure that the Ministry of Labour will closely monitor both the protection of their rights and the enforcement of safety standards."
