Seththa highlights that Sansiri Capital has acquired The Lake Como EDITION, a 5-star hotel by Lake Como, valued at nearly 10 billion baht. The location is rare and he is confident it is a world-class luxury destination.
On 3 September 2026, Mr. Seththa Tawisin, former Prime Minister, shared his views via his personal X (Twitter) account regarding Sansiri Capital's investment in acquiring 100% ownership of The Lake Como EDITION, an ultra-luxury 5-star hotel by Lake Como in Italy.
Mr. Seththa revealed that he began investing in the hotel business in 2017. From his experience, when personally visiting assets under consideration, he often gets "a certain feeling" indicating that the place is special and has enough potential to invest in. Upon hearing the news of this investment, he immediately understood why the team chose this asset.
"By pure coincidence, I am currently at the Lake Como EDITION," he said. Mr. Seththa added,
The hotel is located on the western shore of Lake Como in the Cadenabbia (Griante) area, facing directly towards Bellagio Promontory. It offers views of the pastel-colored old town, the lake's waters, and the Alpine mountain range behind.
Beyond its beauty and prime location, what is more interesting about this investment is the long-term growth potential—stemming from the rarity of the location, Lake Como's strength as a global luxury travel destination, and the opportunity to enhance the asset's value in the future.
In this investment deal, Sansiri through Sansiri Capital has signed a purchase agreement to acquire the asset from Bain Capital and Omnam Group at approximately 200 million euros, or nearly 10 billion baht, with the deal expected to close by the end of September 2026.
