4 Sep 2026 GMT+7 Ms. Jaitai Upakarn Nitikaset, Director-General of the Department of Information and spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated regarding reports that Cambodia accused Thai diplomats of trying to coordinate with third countries to pressure Cambodia not to raise the Thailand-Cambodia conflict at the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF) Summit, that such allegations are untrue.
She emphasized the key point that all Thai diplomats perform their duties with commitment to protect, preserve, and promote national interests to the fullest extent according to international standards, and do not act in a manner that obstructs or pressures, as Cambodia has claimed. Although at the ASEAN Summit in Cebu, Philippines, in May, the leaders of both countries agreed to reduce tensions and restore trust, Cambodia has continued to spread distorted information and misrepresent facts to accuse Thailand repeatedly.
The Director-General of the Department of Information added that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has consistently responded with accurate information, affirming that issues between the two countries should be urgently resolved through sincere bilateral discussions rather than expanding the matter in other international forums.
