Decharat, a candidate for Nonthaburi PAO president from the People's Party, campaigned in Bang Yai District, holding a Dharma talk with Phra Phayom and supporting Wat Suan Kaew through policies for stray animal welfare, highlighting the 'Day Care Center for Peace of Mind' to care for the elderly.
4 September 2026 GMT+7 Decharat Sukkamned, candidate for president of the Nonthaburi Provincial Administrative Organization Number 4 People's Party Along with Sutat Meesiri, Nonthaburi MP from the People's Party, and Sia Champathong, party-list MP from the People's Party, he campaigned in Bang Yai District for the Nonthaburi PAO presidential election. In the morning, he met with the public at the Pikun Ngern morning market and the old Bang Yai market, presenting 20 policies for Nonthaburi residents aiming to build a 'New Nonthaburi' that belongs to everyone, while encouraging people to vote on 20 September.
He then visited Wat Suan Kaew to see the vocational project and the stray animal care center within the temple, paying respects and having a Dharma talk with Phra Ratchathammanithet, known as Phra Phayom Kalayano. They discussed ways the Nonthaburi PAO could support the temple in the future, especially stray animal management policies, as Wat Suan Kaew currently bears heavy responsibility for stray animals. Decharat proposed incentives for the public to adopt strays, including free vaccination and sterilization services and health insurance for adopted stray animals.
They also discussed care for vulnerable elderly groups. Wat Suan Kaew currently runs a shelter for abandoned or solitary elderly people. Decharat emphasized that elderly care should be a key responsibility of the PAO, managed systematically. He highlighted the 'Elderly with Nonthaburi Heart' policy aiming to establish recreational centers for the elderly in every district and to promote the 'Day Care Center for Peace of Mind' project with at least one center per district within four years. This would provide day care for the elderly, easing the burden on working family members or those temporarily unable to care for elderly relatives.
After completing activities at Wat Suan Kaew, he went to Pracharat Suan Bua Floating Market to survey the area and explore ways the Nonthaburi PAO could help develop the community economy to boost local income. He also held a meeting with farmer groups to listen to their issues and propose agricultural policies before campaigning at Lam Sam Market. Natthapong Rueangpanyawut, People's Party leader, and Rangsiman Rome, party-list MP, joined to seek votes from Bang Yai residents.
