Suchart Affirms He Only Hired Natthawuts Law Firm Once, Asks Not to Generalize

Suchart affirmed that he only once hired Natthawut's law firm for a case and asked people not to generalize. He sees the push against Somchai as due to a prior personal dispute and said he has no right to intervene. He insisted that anyone who breaks the law must be prosecuted accordingly.

On 4 Sep 2026 GMT+7, Suchart Chomklin, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, acknowledged seeing news about Natthawut and Somchai. Currently abroad, he confirmed this matter is unrelated to himself and is a personal issue between Natthawut and Somchai. Since he has no personal problem with Somchai, he cannot intervene because Natthawut is neither his subordinate, advisor, nor part of his direct team.

Suchart added that some perceive Natthawut as close to him, but he explained that Natthawut is merely a law firm he hired to handle a case in the past. He paid for their services; it was not free work. Once the case ended, so did their engagement. He has never even shared a meal with Natthawut. Regarding future legal work, Suchart said he currently does not use Natthawut’s law firm since there are many other capable firms available, so there is no need to rely solely on Natthawut’s firm.

Regarding the incident where Natthawut appeared to push Somchai, causing Somchai to fall backward, Suchart said it cannot be compared because the two may have longstanding tensions and exchange harsh words daily. He stated that whoever is at fault should be prosecuted under the law, as everyone must abide by it. However, he told the media and public, "I am just like anyone else who uses a law firm for legal cases I hire. Once the matter is settled, it is over. I do not support such incidents, but I cannot tell them not to do it because it is their personal matter," Suchart said.
