The government is launching free agricultural machinery repair clinics in Nan Province from 12–15 September 2026 to assist farmers after floodwaters recede, aiming to reduce their burden and lower production costs to enable continuous farming.
On 5 September 2026, Captain Phatdarasmit Thongsaluaykorn, Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister's Office, reported that flash floods and landslides in Nan Province from 19–21 August 2026 caused damage to homes and agricultural areas across several districts. After the waters receded and the situation stabilized, many essential agricultural tools and machinery were found damaged, forcing farmers to bear repair costs while facing increased production expenses during preparations for the new planting season.
Accordingly, the government, through the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, has instructed the Department of Agricultural Extension to collaborate with relevant agencies. Local agricultural technicians and experts will be deployed to provide free repairs of agricultural machinery and equipment from 12–15 September 2026, targeting at least 250 machines restored to working condition in three districts: Tha Wang Pha, Pua, and Mueang Nan.
The Deputy Spokesperson added that the free repair services cover equipment such as walking tractors, grass cutters, sprayers, single-cylinder diesel engines, small rice mills, water pumps, and other agricultural machinery damaged by flooding. This support aims to help farmers resume production and livelihoods without interruption.
There will be three main service points: in Tha Wang Pha District from 12–14 September 2026 at Ban Sop Bua Village Hall, Moo 4, Yom Subdistrict; in Pua District from 12–15 September 2026 at Ban Don Sathan Village Hall, Moo 4, Sathan Subdistrict; and in Mueang Nan District on 15 September 2026 at Ban Nam Krok Mai Village Hall, Moo 4, Kong Khwai Subdistrict.
Regarding progress on assistance for damaged crops, officials have been surveying affected areas since 1 September. Farmers impacted by the floods can submit assistance request form Kas 01 at district agricultural offices, agricultural staff, or local community leaders to receive support according to regulations.
