On 5 Sep 2026 GMT+7, Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul signed a Ministry of Interior order to deport Israeli national Mr. Yaacov Ohayon from the Kingdom. The order states that Yaacov sent threatening messages causing victims to fear for their safety and well-being, violating the law. The Samui Provincial Court found him guilty under Criminal Code Section 392 for causing fear or alarm by threats, sentencing him to one month imprisonment and a 10,000 baht fine. He confessed, which was considered mitigating, and under Section 78 of the Criminal Code his sentence was halved to 15 days imprisonment and a 5,000 baht fine, with the jail term suspended for two years.
His behavior was deemed contrary to public order, good morals, or the welfare of the people, making it necessary to deport him under Section 5 of the 2499 BE (1956 CE) Deportation Act to maintain public order and morality.
Under the authority of Section 5 of the Deportation Act 2499 BE (1956 CE) and Clause 4 of the Prime Minister's regulations on deportation 2569 BE (2026 CE), the Interior Minister ordered the deportation of Yaacov, an Israeli national, from the Kingdom.
If Yaacov disagrees with the order, he has the right to appeal to the Prime Minister to revoke the deportation or request an order for his removal under Section 8 of the Deportation Act 2499 BE, within seven days from the date he is notified of the order.
