"Anutin" signed the Prime Minister's Office announcement setting compensation prices for royal decorations that cannot be returned by law for fiscal years 2027-2029, effective from 1 Oct this year.
On 4 Sep 2026, the Royal Gazette website publishedthe Prime Minister's Office announcement regarding the determination of compensation prices for royal decorations that cannot be returned by law for fiscal years 2027-2029.It was signed by Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and announced on 29 Aug 2026, with the following content.
According to the current law governing royal decorations and government medals, recipients must return the lower class when receiving a higher class, or heirs of deceased recipients who are obligated to return the decorations, or in cases where the decorations are recalled. If the decorations cannot be returned, the compensation price for those royal decorations or medals must be paid.
Furthermore, the Cabinet resolved on 30 Jan 1990 to approve in principle a price adjustment every three years. Section 7(4) of the Official Information Act B.E. 2540 (1997) requires government agencies to publish information regarding rules, Cabinet resolutions, regulations, orders, circulars, policies, or interpretations that have regulatory effect on related private parties in the Royal Gazette. Therefore, the Prime Minister's Office issues this announcement to set compensation prices for royal decorations that cannot be returned by law for fiscal years 2027-2029, as listed in the attached schedule.
This shall take effect from 1 Oct 2026 onwards.
