Prime Minister "Nuu" declared that if there is evidence of anyone involved in local exam corruption, they should submit it to the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) for investigation. He stressed that there is absolutely no political influence or orders involved, responding to rumors that accused individuals have implicated ministers by saying, "If involved, everyone will be held accountable."
At 10:50 a.m. on 5 September 2026 GMT+7, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul gave an interview in Ratchaburi Province regarding the issue of local exam corruption. There have been rumors that someone in the government might be involved. The Prime Minister responded by asking, "Is there actually news? There must be evidence or something verifiable. If you just say there are rumors or hearsay, accusations from one side or another, it’s impossible to respond. I haven’t heard that news."
When reporters asked if there were reports that those previously arrested submitted evidence implicating ministers in the current government, Anutin said, "If involved, everyone will be held accountable. The more evidence submitted, the better. I want to publicize here that the body responsible for this is the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC). So, please submit directly to the NACC to be assured that there is no political influence or orders from any side — not from the administration or government."
The Prime Minister further revealed that the NACC is already handling the matter. If anyone feels there is injustice or has evidence showing corruption at any level, they should bring that evidence to the NACC, whether it’s true or false. The NACC has methods to verify it. This is the way to reveal the full truth. Meanwhile, the government has established a serious disciplinary committee and ordered those suspected of involvement or benefit to be removed from any management roles in the Department of Local Administration. Everyone is working separately.
When asked again whether credible evidence implicating ministers would lead to action, the Prime Minister said, "Where is the credible evidence? It must be clear and convincing evidence." If the evidence is credible, it should be submitted to the Ministry of Interior’s Damrongtham Center or the Government Complaints Center at the Government House. But the best channel now is the NACC, which accepts cases to investigate and prosecute local exam corruption. Submit any evidence—whether credible or not—to the NACC so it can be used as evidence for further action. If the evidence is credible, it can be used in prosecutions."
