"Suksamruay" led the village fund team in collaboration with the Department of Provincial Administration to actively reach households directly, announcing the good news of the "Thai Help Thai: Capital Increase, Half-Interest Subsidy" program through village headmen, community leaders, and public announcement towers nationwide.
Mrs. Suksamruay Wantaneeyakul, Minister attached to the Prime Minister’s Office, stated that the government under Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has set a Quick Big Win urgent policy to address livelihood issues, reduce living costs, and comprehensively resolve debt problems for the public. The National Village and Urban Community Fund Committee has approved the implementation of the “Thai Help Thai: Capital Increase, Half-Interest Subsidy” project, which increases capital for village and urban community funds to enhance liquidity. This allows these funds to help reduce borrowing costs from account 1 for members, easing grassroots economic crises and curbing informal debt within villages and communities, thereby alleviating hardships and supporting members nationwide.
The Minister further explained that to achieve the project’s objectives and ensure information reaches local communities, the National Village and Urban Community Fund Office (NVUCFO) has integrated efforts with the Ministry of Interior, requesting support from the Department of Provincial Administration to promote the “Thai Help Thai: Capital Increase, Half-Interest Subsidy” project. District chiefs, as chairpersons of subcommittees supporting and monitoring village fund operations at the district level, have been urged to expedite village fund applications for funding under this program. Administrative personnel including district chiefs, village headmen, and community leaders are tasked with publicizing the project through monthly meetings of district officials, village headmen meetings, village assemblies, and communication via public announcement towers in every village nationwide.
“The ‘Thai Help Thai: Capital Increase, Half-Interest Subsidy’ project is a key government policy aimed at solving grassroots economic challenges. We thank the Department of Provincial Administration for supporting the village fund mission through local administration units. We believe this will boost the number of funding applications. The NVUCFO has prepared information and staff to assist with this project at provincial village fund coordination centers or NVUCFO branch offices throughout the country.”
