NIDA Poll reveals survey results on the Nonthaburi Provincial Governor election trend, showing Naruphan of the Phueng Luang group still leading Decharat of the People's Party.
On 6 Sep 2026, the NIDA Poll Center of the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) disclosed the survey results titled “Who is Leading in the Nonthaburi Provincial Governor Election?” The survey was conducted from 31 August to 2 September 2026 among 1,100 citizens aged 18 and over with voting rights in Nonthaburi Province, covering various education levels, occupations, and income groups. The sampling used probability methods from NIDA Poll’s master sample database with multi-stage sampling. Data was collected via telephone interviews with a margin of error no greater than 0.05 at a 95.0% confidence level.
Naruphan of the Phueng Luang group still leads.
The survey asked respondents whom they would support as Nonthaburi Provincial Governor in this election. Results showed 37.27% supported Mr. Naruphan Yenprasert (Phueng Luang group), followed by 27.55% for Mr. Decharat Sukkamned (People's Party). Meanwhile, 22.73% had not yet decided, 2.45% chose Vote No, 2.27% supported General Nipon Sitabut (independent) and Mr. Tham Pakbaworn (independent) equally, 1.82% supported Warrant Officer Nonthaphan Paphatphorncharoen (independent), 1.45% planned No Vote, 1.27% supported Mr. Chutipon Pinmanee (independent), and 0.92% did not answer or were uninterested.
Nonthaburi residents indifferent to national politics.
When asked about the impact of current national political circumstances on their decision for the Nonthaburi Provincial Governor election on 20 September, 37.09% said there was no impact at all, 27.36% said it had a strong impact, 22.27% said it had some impact, 12.92% said it had little impact, and 0.36% did not answer or were uninterested.
Regarding demographic characteristics, all respondents were registered residents of Nonthaburi Province. Of these, 44.91% were male and 55.09% female.
Age distribution showed 8.55% aged 18-25, 17.64% aged 26-35, 18.99% aged 36-45, 26.64% aged 46-59, and 28.18% aged 60 and over. Religious affiliation was 97.45% Buddhist, 1.64% Muslim, and 0.91% Christian or other religions.
Marital status indicated 39.36% single, 57.73% married, and 2.91% widowed, divorced, or separated. Educational attainment showed 0.27% with no education, 12.55% completed primary school, 27.82% completed secondary or equivalent, 7.36% completed diploma or equivalent, 43.27% completed bachelor's degree or equivalent, and 8.73% attained education beyond bachelor's degree.
Occupations included 10.00% government officers/state enterprise employees and general laborers each, 24.55% private sector employees, 25.82% business owners or self-employed, 0.91% farmers/fishermen, 24.73% homemakers/retired/unemployed, and 3.99% students.
Regarding monthly income, 24.55% reported no income, 1.00% earned up to 5,000 baht, 5.18% earned 5,001-10,000 baht, 29.91% earned 10,001-20,000 baht, 14.82% earned 20,001-30,000 baht, 7.91% earned 30,001-40,000 baht, 4.91% earned 40,001-50,000 baht, 1.91% earned 50,001-60,000 baht, 0.73% earned 60,001-70,000 baht, 0.36% earned 70,001-80,000 baht, 1.36% earned over 80,001 baht, and 7.36% did not specify their income.
