Anutin exclaimed, asking the media if today marked the MOA's one-year anniversary, saying it had passed very quickly. He criticized the Palang Pracharath Party as the one that broke the agreement, pointed out that the Palang Pracharath leader "Teng" added conditions and pressured the Prime Minister to dissolve parliament, and mocked "Ice Cream" for never being part of the equation yet trying to claim something.
On 6 September 2026 at the Bhumjaithai Party headquarters, Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, gave an interview marking the one-year anniversary of the MOA agreement between Bhumjaithai and Palang Pracharath Parties. The Prime Minister exclaimed, "Is it really today? I never thought time would pass so quickly."
Regarding Palang Pracharath's claim that there was a mistake on their part, Anutin said, "No, how could there be a mistake? Both parties worked together to find a solution for the country. Bhumjaithai and Palang Pracharath supported each other. Palang Pracharath's main point was wanting constitutional amendments, which we followed fully. But then they added further conditions later. They thought that having a minority government would let them pressure us beyond the MOA, but the MOA has just five points, and we have stuck firmly to it."
Anutin continued, "When they wanted additional demands beyond the MOA's instruction to dissolve parliament on 31 January 2026, we agreed. Then Palang Pracharath asked to move it earlier to 15 January, which we also accepted. Then they requested another change to 31 December 2025, which we still agreed to. After that, they sought to alter conditions related to constitutional amendments beyond our control, such as removing the Senate's power, saying it was Bhumjaithai's duty to coordinate with senators. I asked what Bhumjaithai could do to coordinate, but Palang Pracharath threatened to file a no-confidence motion if we did not comply."
"You should check the recordings and play them clearly. The Palang Pracharath leader told me personally on that day to dissolve parliament."
"The media often forget and ask if I made a mistake. No, the mistake lies with Palang Pracharath for not adhering to the MOA, for breaking the agreement, and for pressuring the Prime Minister. If we hadn't dissolved parliament, there would have been only hours left to file a no-confidence motion. Everything followed the Palang Pracharath leader's words on 12 December. He told me to dissolve parliament because otherwise, there would be no chance again. I dissolved it as he asked. Where is the mistake? If there is any, it comes from Palang Pracharath, not Bhumjaithai."
Regarding Prit Watjrasinthu, Palang Pracharath's deputy leader and party-list MP, saying signing the MOA with Bhumjaithai was a mistake that caused Palang Pracharath to lose the last election, Anutin asked, "Did Ice Cream say that? I don't know, because Ice Cream didn't sign it or participate in the negotiations with Palang Pracharath. I never saw Ice Cream involved in the process or picture. So, I can't answer about that because he wasn't involved then. Maybe he is involved now, and if he wants to sign today, that's another matter. But back in 2025, Ice Cream was not involved, so what is he claiming?"
