The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) is preparing to transfer flood relief funds of 9,000 baht per household to affected residents in Nan Province. The first transfer will be made on 8 September 2026, covering 15,215 households with a total amount of 136.93 million baht.
On 7 September 2026, Second Lieutenant Phatdarasmi Thongsaluaykrorn, Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister's Office, revealed that following the Cabinet resolution on 25 August 2026 approving the criteria, conditions, and procedures for providing flood relief during the 2026 rainy season, a payment of 9,000 baht per household will be provided to alleviate hardships caused by flooding.
For Nan Province, the first round of relief payments will be transferred to 15,215 affected households, totaling 136,935,000 baht. The DDPM submitted the list to the Government Savings Bank on 5 September 2026, and the bank will make the transfers on 8 September 2026 between 02:00 and 06:00 hrs.
Eligible recipients in this round can check their funds via their Government Savings Bank account or PromptPay accounts linked to their national ID numbers. They are urged to verify their PromptPay linkage to ensure they receive the aid on schedule.
Regarding eligibility, the 9,000 baht assistance will be paid if a permanent residence was flooded for up to seven days and damaged, or if flooding lasted continuously for more than seven days. The residence must be in an area declared as a disaster zone or eligible for assistance, with payments made once per household.
Affected residents who have not yet applied for aid can register through two channels: via the 'Government Channel' app, which links with the civil registration database for verification and status tracking, or by submitting documents in person at local administrative organizations, where officials will assist in inputting the data into the system.
The Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister's Office said the Prime Minister has urged agencies to expedite assistance to those affected by allowing local authorities to submit verified beneficiary data immediately without waiting to collect complete village data. This enables the DDPM to promptly forward information to the Government Savings Bank for disbursement.
Affected persons in Nan Province eligible for the first payment round are advised to check their bank or PromptPay accounts linked to their national ID numbers to prepare to receive the 9,000 baht payment on 8 September.
