On 7 September 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at the Parliament building, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul spoke about the reasons behind the major changes in government communication, specifically regarding the program “Talk with Anutin’s Cabinet,” aired every Saturday. He explained that the government has been working for half a year, and the Public Relations Department, led by Ms. Supamas Isarapakdi, Minister attached to the Prime Minister’s Office, had consulted with him.
Anutin said that in the past, there were similar programs to communicate with the public, such as “Prime Minister Meets the People.” This government wants ministers to work and communicate directly with citizens. Each week, ministers are scheduled to appear on the program to explain their work and inform the public. They will try to do this as often as possible. As for the Prime Minister’s own appearances, no schedule has been set yet.
When asked about the change in government spokesperson from Ms. Rachada Thanadirek to Dr. Ekaphop Piewviset, expected to be proposed at the Cabinet meeting on 8 September, and whether there is a special focus for this role, the Prime Minister said the emphasis is on communicating with the people about what the government has accomplished so far.
When asked if the new government spokesperson would focus on political rebuttals, the Prime Minister responded, “Let’s not use the term political rebuttal. I’d rather say that whatever issues arise, they should be clarified. Doubts and concerns should be explained so all parties understand.”
When asked whether, after the communication team’s restructuring, there would be a cabinet reshuffle, the Prime Minister laughed.
When further asked whether a cabinet reshuffle would occur now after six months in office, the Prime Minister laughed again before saying, “It’s okay,” and then left the interview to attend the House of Representatives meeting.
Reporters pressed to confirm if the laughter meant it was not yet time for a cabinet reshuffle, but the Prime Minister did not answer the question.
Later at 11:35 a.m., Anutin gave an interview after attending the House of Representatives meeting to consider the draft Budget Expenditure Act for fiscal year 2570. He said the meeting went well. There were suggestions and opinions in parliament, which the government listened to from both the committees and the MPs. Where useful, these will be adopted and implemented, marking constructive politics.
