Ratchada has resigned as the government's spokesperson, citing other duties. The Cabinet is set to immediately approve Doctor Ek as the new spokesperson tomorrow.
On 7 September 2026, reporters reported that following confirmation of the change in the Office of the Prime Minister's spokesperson position, Ms. Ratchada Thanadirek submitted her resignation as spokesperson on 3 September 2026. The resignation letter stated that since her appointment as a political official and spokesperson for the Office of the Prime Minister from 6 April 2026, she wishes to resign from the spokesperson position effective 8 September 2026 to pursue other duties.
Additionally, there was another letter signed by Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul under Office of the Prime Minister Order No. 329/2569 concerning the removal of Assistant Minister committee members. The letter stated that since Mr. Ekaphop Phanpiset resigned effective 7 September 2026, by authority of clauses 3 and 8(2) of the Office of the Prime Minister regulations on Assistant Minister committees B.E. 2546, Mr. Ekaphop is thus removed from his position due to resignation, effective 7 September 2026.
At the Cabinet meeting on 8 September 2026 at the Parliament building, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Pipat Ratchakitprakarn in place of the Prime Minister who is on an overseas mission, Mr. Ekaphop will be proposed for Cabinet approval to serve as the new spokesperson for the Office of the Prime Minister.
