King Appoints Anutin as Royal Representative to Attend Norwegian Kings Funeral

His Majesty the King appointed the Prime Minister as his royal representative to attend the funeral ceremony of the King of Norway. The Prime Minister assigned the Cabinet to provide comprehensive explanations on key points of the 2027 budget bill to Parliament.

On 7 Sep 2026 GMT+7, Mrs. Traisuli Traisorankul, Secretary to the Prime Minister, revealed that His Majesty the King graciously appointed Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, to act as his royal representative to attend the state funeral of King Harald V of Norway. The Prime Minister is scheduled to depart for the Kingdom of Norway this evening (7 Sep 2026 GMT+7).

The royal ceremony will be held on Wednesday, 9 Sep 2026 GMT+7 at 13:00 local time at Oslo Cathedral.

Mrs. Traisuli stated that due to this mission, the Prime Minister, as a member of the House of Representatives, will be unable to participate in the consideration and voting on the 2027 fiscal year budget bill during its second and third readings.

However, the Prime Minister remains committed to the 2027 budget bill and is closely monitoring its progress. He has assigned Mr. Akniti Nitithanprapas, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, along with the Cabinet, to continuously and thoroughly explain the key issues to Parliament.
