Ministry of Interior Clarifies Additional Details on Deportation of French National, Emphasizing Offense-Based Consideration

The Ministry of Interior provides additional clarification regarding the deportation of Kevin Dimino, a French national, due to behaviors including spitting, harassment, physical assault, using social media to express racial slurs, and encouraging gatherings that create ethnic and religious divisions.

On 8 Sep 2026 GMT+7, the Ministry of Interior clarified the facts concerning Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul's order to deport Kevin Dimino from the Kingdom. The order concerns the deportation of Mr. Kevin Dimino from the Kingdom. Regarding media reports about the Minister of Interior's deportation order for Kevin Dimino, the Ministry clarifies that he engaged in harassing and insulting language toward owners and teachers at a local language school, physically assaulted a Turkish national causing leg injuries, and threatened with a carried pocket knife. He spat, caused disturbances, and used obscene language near a private local establishment. He also assaulted and threw signs at foreign tourists and used rude language toward their family members.

Additionally, Kevin Dimino posted messages inviting people opposing or disliking a particular nationality to use his private space for political and religious symbolic gatherings, indicating involvement of Thai territory in ethnic, religious, and political divisions. Flight attendants reported him to police after he threatened fellow passengers on a domestic flight, leading to his removal from the aircraft.

The Ministry of Interior therefore observes that Kevin Dimino's behaviors violate public order, good morals, and the welfare of citizens, while causing ethnic and religious division that may harm Thailand's international relations. To preserve public order, morality, and to ensure peace and safety for both Thai citizens and foreigners residing in Thailand, it is necessary to deport Kevin Dimino from the Kingdom.

The Ministry of Interior affirms the deportation order follows a uniform standard, based solely on the nature of the offenses, without targeting or discriminating by nationality. The public, media, and international organizations are assured that the Ministry and Thai government will enforce this law fairly and equally for all foreign nationals.
