Yotchanan Leads Pheu Thai MPs with Deputy Agriculture Minister to Support Thai Milk and Dairy Farmers

Yotchanan acknowledged the decision to expand the school milk program to cover grades 7 to 9 in opportunity-expansion schools, continuing through 2027.

On 8 Sep 2026 GMT+7 at the Parliament building, Mr. Watcharapol Khawkhum, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, led Cabinet members and Pheu Thai MPs to attend the "Pasuk Market" event by the Morakot Pond area at the Parliament. They supported Thai-Denmark fresh milk products to stimulate the economy and promote dairy farming. Key ministers participating included Mr. Yotchanan Wongsawat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation; Mr. Julaphan Amornwiwat, Minister of Labor; Mr. Nikorn Somklang, Minister of Social Development and Human Security; and Ms. Piyaratchai Tiyapairat, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives.

The atmosphere was lively as Mr. Yotchanan ordered a vanilla-flavored fresh milk shake and encouraged the public to support Thai dairy products made from 100% pure fresh cow's milk by Thai farmers, which helps create sustainable income. He invited everyone to help support Thai-Denmark milk, equating it with backing dairy farmers. He chose the vanilla milkshake because he prefers a mild taste, describing himself as easygoing.

Besides promotional activities at Parliament, the Cabinet approved expanding the school milk supplementation project to include students in grades 7 to 9 at opportunity-expansion schools, in addition to the existing coverage from pre-primary through grade 6, as proposed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives. This aims to promote youth health and continuously support dairy farmers through the 2027 academic year.
