At 12:30 p.m. on 8 Sep 2026 GMT+7 at the Parliament Building, Mr. Aekphop Pianpiset, spokesperson for the Office of the Prime Minister, spoke before the Cabinet’s press conference following the Cabinet’s official resolution approving his appointment as the new government spokesperson.
Mr. Aekphop added that before announcing the Cabinet’s resolution—during today’s meeting which addressed several important issues—there was speculation over the past week about whether the new government spokesperson team would adopt a more politically intense approach with more political retaliation. He clarified that while the team would be rigorous in delivering accurate, timely facts to the public, they would not emphasize debates or political emotion. Instead, they would focus on countering false information with truthful data. He emphasized that the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Ministers, and ministers work diligently for the people, regardless of party affiliation or political preferences, and the spokesperson team will not fuel political divisions or incite conflicts among groups or colors.
Mr. Aekphop further stated that the spokesperson team will fully provide the public with truthful and reliable information. He expressed hope that everyone in the political sphere would join efforts not in fruitless retaliation that does not benefit the people, but rather in setting intellectual direction and creating new initiatives for Thailand’s future.
“We want to lead Thailand to a position where it can compete globally, improving the lives and economies of our citizens. Let us compete in setting intellectual direction. If an idea is good, I believe all Cabinet members will implement it. For initiatives the Cabinet already performs well, our spokesperson team will communicate these to the public.
