Chularajmontri declared the fatwa “Patani Darussalam,” highlighting the southern border provinces as a land of peace and uniting efforts to drive the “Hukumpakat 9-Dee Village Charter” to create a stable and sustainable future.
On 8 Sep 2026 GMT+7, reporters reported that yesterday (7 Sep 2026 GMT+7) at the Jabangtikor conference room of the C.S. Pattani Hotel in Mueang District, Pattani province, Mr. Arun Boonchom, the Chularajmontri, chaired the event announcing the fatwa “Patani Darussalam.” Major General Chakrit Uchcharat, Deputy Commander of the 4th Army Region and Deputy Director of Internal Security Operations Command Region 4 Front, welcomed the event, which was attended by chairpersons of the Islamic Committees from the five southern border provinces, presidents of the Ponoh associations from these provinces, religious leaders, and representatives from relevant sectors to listen and witness.
The Chularajmontri read the fatwa proclamation. “Patani Darussalam.” The fatwa emphasized that Thailand’s southern border provinces are a land of peace and invited the public and all sectors to jointly drive the “Hukumpakat 9-Dee” or 9-Dee Village Charter, following the prophets' example to promote peace for all and to build a secure and sustainable future for the children.
Later, at 14:00 at the Central Pattani Mosque, the Chularajmontri gave a sermon and presented the “Khutbah” book to religious leaders in Pattani province to support the dissemination of religious principles and guidance for living according to Islamic teachings. He also visited an exhibition of the “Hukumpakat 9-Dee” initiative organized by local youth and exchanged ideas on applying the Village Charter principles to create a better society.
This fatwa declaration “Patani Darussalam” promotes cooperation among religious leaders, Islamic committees, Ponoh institution leaders, youth, and various local sectors to participate in fostering understanding and driving society toward peace. Especially supporting the “Hukumpakat 9-Dee” as a learning and participation space for youth in the southern border provinces, enabling them to bring knowledge, creativity, and their potential to develop communities, create beneficial activities, and become a vital force in passing on a good society from generation to generation, leading to a stable and sustainable future for the area.
