Wanno questions whether 22 years of nightmare and hardship for people in the three southern border provinces is enough, declaring it is time for all parties to cooperate, rethink, and renew efforts to achieve peace and tranquility by 2027.

Their activities, stances, or views may differ depending on personality and role.
Mr. Wan Muhamad Nor further stated that when he held ministerial positions, he worked to benefit the public according to the ministry’s role. When serving as Speaker of Parliament, he acted within the law and his authority to benefit both the nation and international relations.
“When I served as opposition during General Prayut Chan-o-cha’s administration, I performed my role in parliament with dignity. When I served as budget committee member, I acted straightforwardly. Now as advisor to the Prime Minister, I carry out duties sincerely and responsibly according to the assignments or consultations.”
All these political roles aim to maximize benefits for the people and nation, without attachment to any individual prime minister, whether General Chavalit Yongchaiyudh, Thaksin Shinawatra, Yingluck Shinawatra, or Anutin Charnvirakul. These former and current prime ministers have visited my home in Yala and shown respect, which we reciprocate. This is not something negative.
Especially regarding the three southern border provinces, the prolonged problem did not originate from the people but from others creating obstacles that hinder development. When the Prime Minister consults me, I provide facts because I am from the area—not to boast or appear clever. Whether the Prime Minister believes me or not is another matter. Pleasing or upsetting anyone is hard to control. But my intention is for the country to be safe. When safety is achieved, development opportunities arise. I believe we should not create violent conflict for personal gain but build peace and security for everyone—locals and outsiders engaged in development activities alike.
“I want to ask, is it enough? Twenty-two years of nightmares and severe suffering for people in the three southern border provinces—has enough been spent? Over 500 billion baht has been used, with countless lives lost and injuries. I think it is time for all parties to cooperate, review what has happened, then rethink and renew efforts to create sustainable peace and tranquility like other regions. Let us work together to make this dream a reality by 2027.”
Regarding his party mission, Mr. Wan Muhamad Nor said he is a party member and advisor, willing to provide advice if the executive committee seeks it. He has not left the party, but the main responsibility lies with the party leader and executive committee. Whether the party grows, progresses, splits, shrinks, or dissolves depends on the executive committee and members as a whole. He will not claim credit for himself or dump problems on others.
