On 10 September 2026 at 09:30 at the Government House, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, spoke about his visit to Fuel Road under the Rama III Expressway. He stated that the oil belongs to Bangchak Corporation, which has multiple shareholders. Inspection found a clear leak at point 1, which was not large; no leak was found at point 2. The pipeline transports oil to the Don Mueang Airport fuel depot. Experts confirmed the leak can be repaired and sealed. When asked if the long pipeline route posed other leak risks, Phiphat said that over the past two years, testing along the entire pipeline showed the pipe quality remains intact. However, the cause of the seepage is uncertain and awaits engineering review. He will update the media and local residents afterward. He emphasized that the BMA and DDPM have prepared fire trucks, ambulances, and firefighting equipment. Measurements of volatile substances nearby showed very low, non-hazardous levels, since this is seepage, not a leak. When asked if evacuation was necessary, he replied that close monitoring will continue, with decisions depending on the BMA governor's discretion.
