On 10 Sep 2026 at the Parliament, during the House of Representatives meeting to consider the 2027 fiscal year budget bill, opposition members debated the budget of independent agencies, especially the Election Commission (EC). They focused on the investigation of the Senate rigging case, where Subcommittee 36 dismissed petitions against those accused of being involved from start to finish. Supachai Jaí Sumut, a party-list MP from Bhumjaithai Party, rose to explain on behalf of the EC and countered that 229 people were targeted for prosecution based on the Subcommittee 26 report, which was predetermined. It was found that the complainants were former Deputy Director-General of the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) and an advisor at a ministry office. The allegations against all 229 were identical, written on one sheet of paper, just changing the accused's names, effectively casting a wide net to indict everyone.
Supachai added that under rule of law, one must assess whether behavior meets legal elements. He straightforwardly asked if there was a real money trail, noting that claims aimed to persuade public opinion require proof of who paid whom, when, how much, and why. He questioned if such proof existed. The case involved protecting witnesses, which is alarming. The EC never shielded witnesses during investigations. The disclosed case file includes witness code numbers, a DSI procedure, and contains frightening and serious details involving threats to slander individuals. Some witnesses confirmed the government planned to use DSI and the Royal Thai Police as tools to destroy and defame politicians and the Bhumjaithai Party. They planned to fabricate evidence to frame the party and promised witness protection. This is not a deal for justice but a "poisonous fruit" from a poisonous tree, a flawed case born from witness intimidation.

Supachai expressed concern that on 14 Sep 2026, the case would become even more shocking due to its toxicity, which is documented in the case file. The entire effort aims politically to topple the Senate, but even if that fails, the goal is to bring down the Bhumjaithai Party. He criticized the EC for neglecting disclosed case files and not prosecuting those who revealed them. Claims of widespread Senate rigging were orchestrated encounters. The "orange faction" held meetings at Jim Thompson House’s Jupiter room near Don Mueang Airport, involving former rigging-linked Senate candidates ignored by the EC, focusing on the 229 people. There was intimidation aimed at toppling Bhumjaithai Party. During a "howling dog night" in room 406 of a hotel near Don Mueang Airport, the room was packed. Questions arose about who paid and organized the event, but the EC did nothing. After full debate, the House approved Section 32 by 277 votes to 137, with 53 abstentions and 4 absent.
